You can’t choose who you fall for, but you can choose who you stay with. If you’re lucky enough, even if you’re not with the right person, you may be with someone who won’t do you harm. But if you’re not so lucky, you might find yourself stuck in a relationship with a sociopath. They might not go as far as trying to kill you, but they would use you for their benefits.
They’re parasites, feeding off you, your money, your links, or almost about anything you have to offer. And with their affectionate ways, you fail to see them for who they’re. They’d treat you like you’re the only person in the world that matters. They’d give you love like you’ve never experienced before. And when they’ve achieved whatever they wanted from you, they wouldn’t waste another second on you. They’d vanish faster than you can imagine.
For those of you who still have a chance to save yourself from falling prey to them, here are the 10 most evident signs that you have got a sociopath for a partner;
1. They can pretty much sweep you off your feet
They’re the life of the party. You can’t help yourself being drawn to them. Their charm is simply irresistible. They say and do all the right things. They have the ability to make you feel good about yourself.
2. They’re full of themselves
You will be convinced to believe that there is no one like them. Theyre better than the rest. They not only believe it themselves but go out of their way to prove the same to everyone.
3. They shower you with attention
They never leave room for you to miss them. They’re constantly with you, wither on the phone or in person, but they just can’t seem to get enough of you. And having to spend even minutes away from you is apparently the hardest thing they’d ever had to do. They even get jealous of the people you spend time with.
4. They appear to have a split personality
They keep switching from one extreme to another. You never find them to be consistent in anything. They’d go from loving you to hating you in no time, and then back to loving you again.
5. They don’t take responsibility for anything
According to them, none of their problems are caused by them. They always pin the blame on someone else. Everything that goes on in their life is because of someone else. They don’t own up to anything, not even their own mistakes.
6. Their stories never add up
They mount up lie after lie, after lie in every story they tell. When you point out the gaps in their tales, they never come up with a satisfactory answer. You’ve no chance of getting the truth out of them, ever. They’re pathological liars.
7. Them looking at you creeps you out
It’s one thing to make eye contact with the person you’re talking to, but it’s a completely different thing to make them feel uncomfortable. You have to look away just to make it less weird.
8. They seem to be in a rush
They want to do everything right away. They tell you you’re the one and they can’t wait to spend the rest of their life with you. Hence they want to take your relationship forward by leaps and bounds.
9. They exploit your compassion
Everyone has a soft corner for someone with a rough past. And usually, almost everyone has a painful story to tell. They try to win your sympathy and use it against you. While you feel sorry for them, they’d try to get you to do things for them.
10. You’re physically drawn to them
You just can’t deny how badly you’re attracted to them. You can’t seem to keep your hands off each other. And each rendezvous is better than the last.
