E-hailing drivers made it known that the protest which started on Monday in Johannesburg will continue on Tuesday.
The drivers are demanding that the industry gets regulated.
They claimed that their employees namely Bolt and Uber have been neglecting and exploiting them for also long.
The protest alsok a dramatic turn on Monday after Bolt’s top management in Bryanston refused to come out to accept the driver’s memorandum.
Then the drivers decided to block the main entrance and refused to leave the vicinity.
They said they would not leave till the management shows up.
When more police were deployed to the vicinity, the drivers were forced to open the entrance.
“We have received a commitment from Bolt. The first demand that they’re willing to meet is to have blocked drivers unblocked,” said a spokesperson for the drivers, Vhatuka Mbelengwa
The drivers made it known that the protest will continue today.
The protesters are expected to meet at Zoo Lake on Tuesday morning before they move to Bryanston.
