Pseudodysphagia is the fear of choking. Those with this phobia are often afraid of swallowing, but not because of the process of swallowing.

I have had this phobia of choking since I was 5 years old..I am now 44…I am having a harder time now as I am have been in a stressful situation..I have Lost MUCH weight.. I am 5.4 and weigh 104 pounds…I look sick and feel sick..I am so hungry and I can’t even swallow liquids hardly now…I am so upset and feel hopeless….I hate myself because of this…I feel trapped and hopeless..and less of a person…I want to live..I’m afraid of dying…help me..please…I am a single parent to a beautiful little girl..she needs me..and I want to show her this is no normal but you can be healed from even things like mommy is going through…
