1.  They are putting you on a pedestal.

They tell you that you are perfect and that you can practically do no wrong. Of course, it would feel good to have someone who really makes you feel good about yourself. You want a partner who is always beefing up your ego and letting you know of how amazing you really are. However, you have to be careful. You also want a partner who is honest with you; someone who isn’t afraid to call out the bad parts of yourself. [Read: 7 Early Warning Signs of an Abusive Relationship]

2.  They force you into performing physical acts

that you’re typically not comfortable with doing. You have to remember that you are the owner of your own body. And when you’re in a loving relationship with someone, you shouldn’t have to feel like you give up a sense of ownership over your body. They shouldn’t be violating whatever boundaries you set for your physical self. [Read: 10 Red Flags Of a Bad Person And You Need To Stay Away]

3.  They pressure you into rushing through the various stages of your relationship.

They have no respect for the pace that you want to operate in. They don’t care much about the speed at which you want to take things. They will try to force you to move at the pace they want to move at even if it makes you extremely uncomfortable. [Read: 9 Unfortunate Signs That Your Man Is Playing Around With You]

4.   They try to isolate you from your family and friends.

Keep in mind that just because you get into a relationship with someone doesn’t mean that you have to give your life up for this person. You should still be able to have a life for yourself outside of your relationship. That’s why it’s always bad news if your partner is trying to isolate you from those who are closest to you. It’s as if they are trying to take full ownership of your time because they don’t want to share you to anyone else. [Read: 9 Insanely Easy Relationship Hacks to Be a Better Partner]

5.  They have a tendency to roll their eyes at you.

This might not seem like something that is very significant. It might be an innocent little bad habit in your eyes; something that doesn’t really impact the relationship in a major way. But you’re wrong. This simple “act” is a blatant show of disrespect. They are acting dismissive of you and someone who truly loves you would never treat you in such a manner. 6.  They insult you on a personal level when you’re engaged in an argument or disagreement.

One of the key factors of determining the longevity of a relationship is a couple’s ability to have mature and constructive arguments. You aren’t always going to be seeing eye to eye in your relationship. You aren’t always going to be on the same page. And that’s exactly why you need a partner who is able to maintain an open-mind; someone who is able to act maturely and properly when you have disagreements. 7.  They don’t really show any work ethic

-whether in your relationship or in other aspects of life. You always want to be attaching yourself to a hardworking individual. You want to be with someone who is always going to be willing to put in the effort in life and in your relationship. You want to be with someone who is never going to be lazy.

8.  They treat people who have less “status” than them terribly.

You know that a person is only nice when that individual is nice to EVERYONE. It can be easy to be nice to people who you consider to be your equals; or to people who are above you. But you can tell a person is really nice when they are that way towards people who they would never really benefit from.

9.  They lie to you.

Don’t be so quick to think that the little lies are going to be okay in your relationship. If they can lie to you about something – even if it’s something small and insignificant – it shows that they can lie to you about the big and serious things too. Trust is something that you’re going to want to build in your relationships. And when there is constantly lying and betrayal in your relationship, it can be difficult to build that trust.

10.  They have cheated in previous relationships.

Of course, it’s not always a guarantee that just because they cheated before, they’re going to cheat in you as well. However, can you be so sure that they’ve changed their ways? Better to stick with someone who has a proven track record of loyalty and commitment. Red Flags In A Relationship

11.  They invade you privacy.

They browse through your phones messages and emails without your permission. It shows that they don’t really trust you; and more importantly, they don’t really respect you. They are willing to violate your privacy so as long as it suits their needs.
