It’s not a very surprising thing to see people wanting permanent residence after completing their studies in Canada, a beautiful country with fabulous infrastructure and amenities. The perks that Canada offers to its people are hard to ignore and thus becomes one of the most interesting countries to spend life in.
To acquire permanent residency in Canada, a few things and steps have to be kept in mind:
- A person who wants to be eligible for applying for permanent residency visa under the Canadian experience class stream of express entry needs to have gained enough experience from the Canadian study permit firstly.
- International students who want to apply for permanent residency need to have first spent sufficient time in Canada.
- Choose your educational institution carefully.
- Choose an educational institution which is authorized to let people work in Canada after post graduation.
- Check if the educational institution is DLI (Designate learning institution) or not.
- DLI allows the students to become eligible for a study permit.
- The educational institution must be a degree of providing or diploma providing institution.
- Choose a course for studying as per NOC (National Occupational Classification) of Canada.
- Never rely on co-op programs which combine the studies as well as the practical work experience in Canada.
There are majorly three different programs which people can choose to get permanent residency after they have completed their studies successfully.
1. Canadian Experience Class:
Students who have studied at least for two years at an accredited post-secondary school on a full-time basis are eligible to apply for permanent residency in Canada under this program. Also, there is a requirement of completing studies in a Canadian campus and after that working for at least a total period of twelve months in a skilled position.
2. Quebec Experience Class:
Students who have studied in Quebec and have completed a Bachelor’s, vocational or masters/Ph.D. level degree and have a degree of proficiency in French and English are suitable to apply under this program. Students don’t need to have any prior work experience to become eligible for this program.
3. Provincial Nomination Program:
Foreign students who studied their post-secondary program in provinces such as Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, Nova Scotia, Manitoba, Newfoundland, and Prince Edward Island are suitable to apply under this program. Several programs would require work or job experience or a job offer in the province where the degree was obtained from.
However, there is a chance that the others, may not. The best perk that this program offers is that, under this program, the student can acquire the status of permanent resident faster than any other program.
